Meet the LAVAAN team: Oh Hey Patricia
Have you met Patricia?
You probably have, and like all people, were left with a warm fuzzy feeling.
She is LAVAAN's Chief of Staff, also known as "The Gate Keeper," "The Jack and Master of ALL."
Besides getting you set up for your next appointment, following up on insurance, talking you through your treatment, and leading the LAVAAN team through their day, she is the inspiration behind the hit Netflix show Cobra Kai. Okay, she isn't, but you could find why we think she is if you keep reading.
Born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico and raised in Florida, Patricia was always destined to enter the world of dentistry. As a little girl, she always wanted to be a dentist. Why? "I wanted to make people smile." Lucky she was surrounded by a family that too was in the dental field. Her Great Uncle was the first certified orthodontist in Puerto Rico.
Patricia is just like us when it comes to oral health and sympathizes when we cry over a cavity. She has dealt with significant oral health issues and concerns resulting in her undergoing jaw surgery at 17 and requiring braces as an adult. She says it only strengthened her love for the field of dentistry.
Now the moment you have all been waiting for…COBRA KAI NEVER DIES! If you ask us, she is more of a Miyagi Do team member.

Not only is she our dental guide and support, but this pizza-loving, multi-lingual, clarinet & saxophone playing LAVAAN team member is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
One more time for the people in the back…BLACK BELT IN TAE KWON DO!
Meaning she will Crescent Kick us at our next appointment if she finds out we are not flossing.
We are kidding. But start flossing just in case.
What is Patricia doing when she is not at LAVAAN or fighting crime?
"I enjoy traveling and spending time with my fiancé, my pups, and my family. You can find me at the beach whenever the chance presents itself."

"Don't let fear keep you from coming; preventive treatment is simple."
What is the best way for patients to prepare for their next visit?
"Always keep up with your hygiene at home."
The biggest lie about dental care that you have heard?
"If it doesn't hurt, I don't need to take care of it."
"Pain is an indication that things have progressed much further than we would wish. Be proactive and take care of your teeth before there is any pain."
